Battle Creek residents have pulled together to make sure the World's Longest Breakfast Table event goes on for 2009. The World's Longest Breakfast table will be held on Saturday June 13, 2009. Breakfast will be served between 8:00 and 10:00 am, with entertainment and activities continuing until noon. We will be setting up 150 tables, one for each year of the town's history.
Breakfast Table was huge success... despite weather

Thousands came out to have breakfast together, even with the threat of rain looming overhead. Despite the extremely short amount of planning time, the Worlds Longest Breakfast Table 2009 was a smashing success. Some even say it was the best one yet! We would like to thank everyone who came out to make it a memorable and successful event.

The Ceremonial Planting of the Sesquicentennial Oak Tree
This year, all Battle Creek residents can take pride in celebrating the city’s 150th anniversary. To commemorate this historic occasion, members of the 2009 World’s longest Breakfast Table Committee have arranged to plant an oak tree in McCamly Park. It is a fitting location for the Sesquicentennial Oak; the park used to be the center of town and contains numerous impressive memorials honoring Battle Creek’s war veterans. The oak tree sapling commemorates the city’s 150th anniversary and as it grows into a tall, sturdy tree, it will symbolize the strength of the future of Battle Creek. It represents the confidence that our citizens have in our city. The planting ceremony will take place after the Cereal City Parade at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, June 12th.
